Footsteps of Discovery have been conducting successful events with a Survival & Bushcraft theme for over a decade. The Instructors made up predominantly of ex-military personnel, and their events have something for everyone.

About the Instructor:

Spanner Manley was the first recruit to the Light Infantry regiment in 1968, and left in 2002 as a Major. He has spent the last 20 years teaching survival techniques to all arms of the services, spending over 3 years as a jungle warfare instructor, and has worked in the jungles of Belize, Kenya, and in particular Brunei.

Spanner was awarded the MBE in 1993 for his work with youngsters in Northern Ireland, and he believes that to learn new life skills, there must be an element of fun and people should be prepared through knowledge to deal with all situations.
