New Exhibitions
Penryn Town Museum
Added: 31 March 2022
The museum has many exhibitions, some are permanant but we're always trying to add something new so that people will want to come again and so that we appeal to a range of audiences.
Incoming exhibitions include information on Penryn's granite industry which was one of the leading career choices for school leavers for generations. Freeman and McLeod are one of the most well known names associated with the industry in Penryn, but the history goes back much further and includes many names and stories. It really was the Penryn version of mining.
The museum is open 10am to 3.30pm Monday to Thursday and 10am to 1pm on Fridays. Please be aware that the museum is run by volunteers and occasionally due to circumstances beyond our control the museum may have to close without notice.
Our volunteers are always happy to help and answer questions. If you have an interest in volunteering please get in touch, we're always happy to welcome new volunteers with any skills and knowledge they may have to offer.
