Padstow Museum

Our mission is to welcome all, especially our younger generation, to record and protect the social history of this unique seaport: we are family friendly, our volunteers are there to help by explaining and helping with your queries. We pride ourselves on our in depth knowledge of local family history and social history of the town.

Padstow Museum has moved from the old venue to Station House South Quay, we are now housed in the annexe of Padstow Town Council offices, adjacent to the Council car/coach park at the end of the Camel Trail. Our new Museum has full disability access, children are welcome, there is no charge for admission, but we do appreciate small donations to cover our overhead running costs. The new Museum has interactive facilities plus stunning displays depicting Padstow past, it is our ambition to remain open throughout the year including all public holidays, including half terms and other occasions.

Display of Harlyn Bay Burials

The relics displayed are some of those recovered on the 1911 dig at the site at Harlyn Bay. Dig was led by Roddie Mallet. Items on loan from RCM Truro. This display is now been updated, and the manderbles are subject of carbon dating
Padstow Mayday Start of the Morning Festivities

It is customary for the Blue Oss to emerge from the Institute at 10am followed by the Red Oss (Old Oss) from the Golden Lion at 11am. Both Oss's process around the town by different routes during the day culminating in the Farewell at the Maypole in the evening

Information

Public toilets are available in the adjacent coach park just 20 yards from the main entrance,Wheelchair access is via the pathway between the council building and Ben's cafe, on to the old station platform the entrance is on your left

Arrival by car.

The nearest car parking facilities are in the Padstow Town Council car park at Adjacent to the Museum, Disability level access is achievable from this car park.
Wheelchairs, and small motability scooter are fine, please ask staff for help if required
