Wheal Martyn Stitches
Wheal Martyn

Added: 04 December 2015
Wheal Martyn Stitches launched today with a group of ladies, some of whom had not been to the museum for many years. Focussing on the crafts that would have been used by people living in the Clay Country when the Vistorian china clay works were a prominent part of everyones life, we explored the basics of crocheting and looked at examples of patchwork, quilting and rag rug making to develop new skills in what will be a regular event on the first Friday of the month between 11.00am and 12.30pm from 5th February. This friendly craft group meeting in the comfortable cafe at Wheal Martyn is set become a permanent date in the diary.
